At the heart of KONTAK’s innovations is its patented Hydrogen Release Module. Using advanced 3D printing technology, KONTAK creates complex, metallic cores with thousands of cylindrical micro reactors. There reactors are loaded with a proprietary catalyst. In use, they are heated quickly, efficiently, and without carbon using magnetic induction techniques (alternating magnetic fields) to the precise release temperature for the hydrogen Carrier being employed.
In the graphic, the Carrier enters from the lower left and is distributed uniformly by the Diffuser. Vaporized and heated to the operating temperature, it is passed to the Hydrogen Release Section. The heated catalyst releases the hydrogen directly to an engine or fuel cell.
An infrared camera is used to monitor the temperature and condition on the thousands of micro reactors in real time.
